Gaëtan Henrioux paints as he breathes. Freed from the original constraints of painting that anchor the medium in a process of representation, he composes on canvas a twilight imagery that intersects figurative codes and abstract signs, with the desire to cultivate his personal vision of humanity.

 

His chromatic palette is dominated by red-oranges which envelop the characters and objects he models in acrylic with a warm light: a kind of pictorial fire punctually controlled by a purplish blue repertoire which tempers, here and there , his burning images sketched with a brush or an aerosol.

 

Deploying an aesthetic marked by wild colors, the painter establishes a constant dialogue between iconic references from the history of art and the prosaic nature of the contemporary world: without fear of anachronisms, he carries a fragmented, antagonistic narrative, of which he is the arbitrator.
